Attorney David Ostrander was admitted as a lawyer to the Massachusetts Bar in 1989, to the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts in 1990, to the U.S. First Circuit Court of Appeals in 2006 and to the U.S.Supreme Court in 2018.  He graduated, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1976, and received his J.D. Degree, Cum Laude, from Western New England University School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1989.  In 1990, he joined the law firm of Hendel, Collins & Newton, P.C. of Springfield, Massachusetts, as an associate attorney where he focused on bankruptcy matters.  In 1994, David established his own practice in Northampton, Massachusetts, where he continues to concentrate in bankruptcy law and debtor/creditor representation.  In 1997, he was appointed to the panel of Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustees for the District Of Massachusetts, and continues to serve as a Chapter 7 Panel Trustee. As a bankruptcy trustee, he oversees hundreds of cases each year.  In 2011 David received the Community Service Award from the Massachusetts and Hampshire Bar Associations.  In 2015 he received an award from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court recognizing his volunteer legal services.  He is a member of the Hampshire, Franklin, Hampden and Massachusetts Bar Associations, the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees (NABT), and the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI).

Candace Clarke, Paralegal
 
Candace has worked with David Ostrander for over 20 years.  She is a 2002 graduate of the Paralegal Program at Elms College in Chicopee, Massachusetts, where she received her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies.  She has continued her legal education by attending numerous seminars on bankruptcy and related areas of law.  She is a member of the National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Western Massachusetts Paralegal Association, and the Legal Assistant Division of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees.
